A VPS is a solution adapted for pre-production and production environments. The OVHcloud Public Cloud offers a multi-server infrastructure, with high availability for servers. vRack, a private network service, is also available with the OVHcloud Public Cloud services.

You will need to log in to your VPS via SSH, using the IP address, user name and password provided by email when you received your order. From a Windows desktop, we recommend that you log in using the Putty software. On a Linux desktop, you can connect directly via the terminal.

A VPS—or virtual private server—is a virtual machine that provides virtualized server resources on a physical server that is shared with other users. With VPS hosting, you get dedicated server space with a reserved amount of resources, offering greater control and customization than shared hosting.

On your local Windows device, open the Remote Desktop Connection client application. Enter the IPv4 address of your server, then your username and passphrase. Usually a warning message will appear, asking to confirm the connection because of an unknown certificate. Click on Yes to log in.
